My First Time Juicing
At our favorite coffee shop in Florence, Ditta Artigianale, where we would head every morning for breakfast and cappuccino, we received a surprise drink on our table.
In two small shot glasses, our barista gave us a sample of their fresh made fruit juice. We were sold! For the rest of our trip - we ordered a glass every morning.
When we came home, we missed the fresh juice so much that we decided to order a juicer to make our own. My favorite juice from their menu was the “Refreshing” with pineapple, grapefruit, and fennel.
We wanted a masticating juicer instead of a centrifugal one, since it extracts more juice, and the slow moving motor allows for juice to remain fresher for longer. We knew we would want to make a lot of juice at once and refrigerate it for a few days.
A juicer with a long warranty. What if it breaks right away? Or in the first year? We settled on Omega because they have the longest warranty on the market of 15 years.
Today, I’m going to share with you my recreation of the “Refreshing.”
All you need are three ingredients, pineapple, grapefruit, and fennel (Anise):
1 Pineapple 2-3 Grapefruit ½ Fennel (save the other ½ to make juice later in the week)
I still have so much to learn about juicing and would love to hear your recipes recommendations and any juicing wisdom that you want to pass along!
