Happy Thanksgiving!

While I know I have so much to be thankful for - in some ways it’s been a tough year and it’s easy to get bogged down by life's difficulties and to forget about the blessings. I want to share with you guys 5 things I’m thankful for this year and I hope this list encourages you to think about the things that you are thankful for, even if you’re going through a tough time!

1. Florence

Going to Italy this summer was the first time Chris and I had ever flown together! It was a long awaited trip as we had saved for over 6 years. It’s been a dream of mine to go to Italy since I was in high school and took my first Italian class. I can say that Florence was absolutely a dream come true and worth the wait!

2. Garden

For Thanksgiving we are enjoying butternut squash grown right from Chris’s garden. I’m so thankful that he learned how to garden from his grandfather and it’s been amazing to see him take care of a flourishing garden of his own. Even in November we are still enjoying some of the vegetables he grew from seeds!

3. Exercise

At the beginning of the year I made a commitment to get in shape. Since I had been out of college and working mostly at a desk I had gained a bit of weight. I began a program to get fit in January and have never felt better. Exercise is now such an important part of my routine and I can’t imagine life without it. Before and after below!

4. This Blog

I have wanted to blog for years, but never had the courage to sit down and write about my life. To be honest, I was afraid what people would think and I didn’t consider my life interesting enough for anybody to want to read about it. While in Florence, away from the daily distractions of life, it allowed me to think about writing a blog again and to move past my fears. Now, I love thinking about what I’m going to share with you next.

5. My Husband

I’ve known Chris for over 11 years now (we met when I was 16) and I am so in awe of him still. He encourages me to pursue my passions and has helped me accomplish things that I never knew I could do. Even when I’m not at my best he still loves me and reminds me to focus on the good in life.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! I’m so excited to have a day with family and enjoy some awesome food.

I’d love to hear some of the things you’re thankful for this year. Share below in the comments!
