Springtime in February

This weekend was amazing! I spent so much time outside actually being in the sun and enjoying the spring like weather. New Jersey was a WARM 63 degrees this weekend and I loved every minute of it.

To be honest, I’m ready to see new life grow. I get a little weary in the time between Christmas and Spring and am even counting down the days until day lights savings ends and more sunshine begins. We have so much to look forward to this Spring – my MBA graduation in May, followed by a vacation in Charlottesville, Virginia and the third garden that Chris will be doing this summer (I help a little bit!). I love looking forward to things and counting down the days.

What are you looking forward to this Spring?

One reason why I love the change of seasons is rediscovering old things in my wardrobe. I’m ready to pull my spring and summer wardrobe out of hiding! This Sunday I wore a few pieces perfect for the transition between winter and spring.

I never imagined that I would wear this color yellow – but shopping in Florence, Italy this past summer changed some of my tastes. OVS was my favorite “cheaper” place in Italy to shop – similar to H&M in the US. I bough this sweater in 3 different colors and love that it can be worn in the winter under a cardigan or in the spring with a pair of jeans. I paired the sweater with a pair of navy chinos from the Gap, that are comfortable for either the weekend or for work. I recommend you buy a size down – these are a size 4 when I normally wear a 6. I bought these color block flats second-hand (anyone else a fan of thrifting?!) but you can find a similar pair here.
