A few weeks ago Chris and I went exploring the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township, New Jersey. I’ve always loved this arboretum since my mom brought me here as a little kid and Chris and I used to spend some time taking walks together when we were dating. It’s such a beautiful place for a wedding too! We actually stumbled upon a bride being photographed when we got there.
Recently as we’ve been taking summer walks, I’ve stopped taking my cell phone with me. I love taking that hour or so to be unplugged and undistracted. Of course we’re having fun taking pictures with our camera, but it’s so nice not to hear notifications or text messages or to have the urge to look at my phone for no good reason! Does anyone else do that - you start looking at your phone and you don’t remember or know why? It’s definitely a habit I want to kick!
And as for this flowy, lacy Free People dress that I wore… I wish that I had a wedding to go to this summer! I got it for a great discount at a Free People store while we were in Virginia Beach this past May (link) and this was my first time purchasing anything from the brand.
I played around with these photos using VSCO and Lightroom for the first time. I’m definitely not a pro. Editing is so much harder than it looks. I wanted to go for a more neutral, darker look for the photos than the originals. I’d love to hear any tips for editing photos - I love doing it, but it’s easy to get lost in too many options (especially in Lightroom).
Thanks for stopping by!
